About this site

Design

  • For those using screen readers, at the start of each page you have the option to skip to the content
  • The pages on this website are all printer-friendly - just the logo and the page content will appear on any printouts you make
  • All pages are designed using CSS - no tables whatsoever have been used in the design of this website
  • Structure and presentation have been completely separated - the HTML documents contain just the text that you see on the screen
  • All text is assigned a relative font size - this means that you can resize the text if you want to
  • All informational images contain an ALT tag and decorative images are either relegated to the CSS document or have a null ALT attribute

I aim to make this website accessible to everyone. If you experience any kind of problem or have any feedback about it please contact me.

Browser compatibility

This website has been tested and proven to offer full functionality on Windows and Macintosh with:

  • Windows
    • Firefox 1.0
    • Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0
    • Netscape 4.7, 6.2 and 7.2
    • Opera 7.54
  • Macintosh
    • Firefox 1.0
    • Internet Explorer 5.2
    • Netscape 7.2
    • Opera 7.54
    • Safari 1.0

This website relies on CSS 2.0, which is unsupported by Internet Explorer 4 and below and Netscape 4 and below. It can still be accessed on these browsers but with unpredictable presentation results. The decision to use CSS 2.0 was taken due to the very small number of Internet users browsing with these older versions (now less than 1%).

Standards compliance

This website conforms to:

  • W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines priority 1 and 2 guidelines
  • XHTML 1.0 - click on the XHTML link at the bottom of any page
  • CSS 2.0 - click on the CSS link at the bottom of any page

Resizing the text

To increase the text size:

  • Internet Explorer: View > Text size
  • Netscape: Edit > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts
  • Opera: File > Preferences > Fonts > Minimum font size (pixels)

Alternatively, scroll with the wheel of your mouse whilst holding down the control key.
